Highlights:

  • Understanding of design elements including color, space, proximity, hierarchy, repetition
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Logo creation from scratch
  • Logo recreation from raster to vector
  • Product mockup

Photography

10+ years

My photography style reflects my surfing style: go with the flow. I love capturing candid natural moments but also step in when needed to guide posing and positioning during portrait shoots and weddings. As an action sports athlete, I know how to time the perfect shots in any sport. I have years of experience in processing a large number of images quickly and with high-quality attention to detail. I’ve been professionally trained in image retouching including skin smoothening, nips and tucks, removing stray hairs, object removal or addition and background substitution.

Highlights:

  • Proficient in Lightroom and Photoshop
  • DSLR operation
  • Lifestyle, wedding, action, and product photography experience
  • Studio and natural lighting
  • Photography editing and retouching
  • Trained eye for color and exposure correction

8+ years

I have been editing videos of my travels and experiences for 10 years. I am self-taught in Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve. I create high-energy videos, both full length edits and shot cuts for social media, paying close attention to how the footage flows, transitions and tells a story.

Skills:

  • Clip organization
  • Transitions, both in camera and digital
  • Color grading
  • Song and music selection
  • Stabilization
  • Exporting and formatting for different platforms

Web Design

2+ years

Self-taught in basic web design using WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and PowWeb. In addition to this website, I created and run updates for The Dance Establishment and iRock Utah. I’ve learned SEO best practices including optimizing image file naming, alt text and keywords while creating content for Dezember Photography’s blog.

Fun Fact: I love to shred

I competed in a sport called Flowboarding for 8 years. I am the 2022 World Champion in the Women’s Pro Flowboard division. One of the most challenging experiences of my life was being an instructor and performer on the largest artificial wave in the world, standing over 10 feet tall. Although I had years of experience on the Flowrider, learning how to ride a barrel of this size took every bit of confidence and perseverance but was so worth it to be able to teach and inspire a new community of riders. Flowboarding has introduced me to many amazing people in over 27 states and 13 countries and I am forever grateful for the opportunities it has provided!
